Frequency response of the Motorola Mitrek conversion to repeater or link

by Karl Shoemaker, AK2O

Introduction

Flat audio for both transmit and receive is necessary for a good link and/or repeater. After the modifications were performed on the radio the frequency response was checked. As time permits a chart will be plotted and displayed. Presently here's the transmit side:

Frequency Level deviation from reference
10 Hz ~ 600 Hz  0
at 900 Hz  -.1
at 2KHz  -.2
at 4 KHz  -.3
at 5800 Hz  -.4
at 6600 Hz  -.5
at 7600 Hz  -.6
at 8300 Hz  -.7
at 8900 Hz  -.8
at 9400 Hz  -.9
at 10 KHz  -1.0

This may be copied or printed in complete form only for non-profit purposes, such as for the knowledge for the Amateur Radio Service, with AK2O credited as designer. Other arrangements please contact the author. Most of the developments and corrections were made in June~August of 2004, with updates in Sept. 2005 and October 2008.
